Abstract
We live in the age of information. Data is the most valuable resource of an enterprise. Many technologies emerged to transmit message through various methods. The earliest of this was communication through telephone cables viz., through exchange of conversations, Telex and FAX Messages. Then came the application of technology for establishing microwave links through wireless repeater station, Satellites Stations, transmitting data from point to point through coaxial cables. This was further augmented by the introduction of Bluetooth technology.
Wibree and Bluetooth are complementary technologies. In fact Wibree is an extension of Bluetooth. Bluetooth is best suited for streaming and data-intensive applications such as file transfer, Wibree is designed for applications where less power consumption, small size and low cost are the parameters. It was developed to create a short range wireless voice and data links between a broad range of devices such as PC’s, notebook computers ,handhelds, PDA’s, smart phones, mobile phones, digital cameras with low power consumption and low cost.
