AMCAT or the Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive Test is a first of its kind test, designed to help students and companies to assess their aptitude and do
main knowledge. The test and its technology developed by alumni from IIT, Delhi and MIT, Boston, USA works on a very high end statistical technology helping candidates assess their skills in various modules including English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability , Logical Ability, Computer Basics, Programming, Electronics, Banking and various domain modules. The score obtained in these modules can be used by companies to compare with other students’ score, so as to decide on a better hiring potential.
AMCAT is a 3 hour interactive test taken on a computer which presents questions based on the ability of the candidate taking the test, i.e., the level of the test increases as the number of questions answered correctly increases, and vice versa. This allows the assessment engine to pinpoint the exact ability level of each candidate in various modules.
Not only does the AMCAT provide an accurate assessment of every candidate taking the test, a patent pending Artificial Intelligence module works on the test responses from a candidate and gives him a detailed feedback so as to help identify his areas of strength and improve the areas of deficiency. This engine goes deep into every module identifying particular areas within a subject where improvement is required. This feedback mechanism is very important for the growth of a student, as it helps him in improving for future assignments.
The content on each section, or Module, is derived from a large statistically-rated question bank, with appropriate questions, testing the students on all the skills requisite to have a job in the IT and other software sectors. The algorithm, as designed by the core-team of Aspiring Minds, disposes away the repeated and non-challenging questions, hence, the practical and basic skills required by the hiring companies is the emphasis.
AMCAT has got widespread acceptance from industry and academia. Multiple IT, ITeS and core companies use AMCAT for selecting candidates for interview and final placements. The AMCAT evaluation gives companies the confidence to hire accurately and consistently. They access the WorkForce Advisor portal, developed by Aspiring Minds, on a continuous basis to shortlist and interview the appropriate candidates.
