Wireless Networks for monitoring Real-time
Road Traffic
(Abstract copy)
To design and implement a mobility model that can indicate the violation from the list of set of rules that could result in a collision in real-time road traffic scenarios. People do not have efficient traffic monitoring system, human monitoring and monitoring based on the video and image surveillance proved ineffective. The routing and alerting models used for transportation infrastructure planning also do not make use of the road capacity.
We purpose, TraffCon: Intelligent Traffic Control Solution. TraffCon has client server architecture. In which, Straw mobility model identifies the parameters acting as causes of the accident as well as maintains the vehicular transport movement and alert generation and gains insights about accidents from the collected data. The modules of the Straw mobility module are:
Routing management and evaluation component
Inter-Segment Component
Intra-Segment Component
Radio Placement Component
Redefined Straw mobility model records the information about the vehicle with the help of a GPS enabled device and a timer. The inter vehicle communication is possible when they are in short range and the movement is monitored until they are not out of range The routing information would enable the model to infer whether the direction of travel is right or not.
